Dark Testament

Trivium Interactive developed an augmented reality (AR) experience featuring portraits of sixteen influential Black writers created by several contemporary artists. Displayed along both sides of the American Writers Museum’s hallway as part of the Dark Testament exhibition, the portraits are brought to life through augmented reality, adding a new layer of storytelling and engagement for visitors.

Complementing the AR experience is a stunning immersive installation presented across a four-screen display. The experience highlights and honors Black American writers from the end of the Civil War through the Civil Rights Movement, helping visitors better understand the history of racial injustice in the United States and the powerful voices that shaped the nation's literary and cultural landscape.
