Trivium collaborated with The Strong National Museum of Play to develop Paper Race and SkyCrafter, two interactive digital experiences to be installed in Rochester International Airport’s Concourse A. Designed as an extension of the Toy Hall of Fame Play Zone, these interactives invite travelers to participate in imaginative, game-based experiences inspired by classic toys and creative play.
Paper Race is a fast-paced, 1-2 player paper airplane race set within a 3D house filled with toys and other obstacles. Players use four directional buttons to navigate their plane through different rooms, collecting power-ups like ring pops and hula hoops along the way. A large LED wall display visualizes the journey from room to room, ending in a dash to the backyard finish line.
SkyCrafter offers a creative, open-ended experience, combining a touchscreen interface with a large LED display. Users choose a flyer, such as a UFO, rocket, plane, paper airplane, and customize it with colors, stickers, and patterns before launching it into the shared digital sky. Once airborne, their creations loop, glide, and interact with other flyers, creating a lively, collaborative display that celebrates imagination and personalization.
